Telemundo and Univision are two popular Spanish language stations which broadcast from the U.S. You don’t have to know a lot of Spanish to get something from watching them. Yes there are a lot of programs (especially the ‘telenovelas’ or soap operas) which are a little on the hokey side, but the accentuation and vocabulary used in these programs is perfect for the beginning learner. Moreover, as you advance in your knowledge, listening to these stations and watching the context in which the words evolve will strengthen you verbal acuity.
